Cover Letter
Dear Hiring Manager for JDRF,
I am inquiring about a position to work for your organization. My resume is attached to this cover letter for you to observe. I feel very qualified to work for JDRF because I have volunteered with them for more than 10 years now. I have worked very closely with many of the team members and have come to see that I want to be a part of that team.
I am currently enrolled in college, studying Communications. I have taken many classes which will directly relate to countless requirements when working with JDRF. Some of these classes are Public Speaking, Events Management, and Visual Design, which means I know how to design using Adobe products. I have volunteered with JDRF specifically by going to the Lake Powell Challenge since it began in 2008 and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for diabetes. I have also attended many fundraising walks with my diabetic team called “Savannah’s Heroes”. I have participated in Children’s Congress and got to meet with the Utah Senator Orrin Hatch. I have volunteered for about ten years now at Primary Children’s Hospital in Utah. I go and visit newly diagnosed children who have diabetes and I talk with them and their families, while also giving them a JDRF backpack with a Rufus bear inside. It is a joy to work with so many people and try to help them. I love to give them hope and the courage to carry on.
I would love to schedule a time to meet with you, that way we could talk more about JDRF and what I can do to help further the work of raising money for research and a cure for diabetes. You can reach me through my email or my phone number, listed below. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Sincerely,
Savannah Taylor
